Elections Observation Group elects new Chairperson

Ann W. Ireri has been elected as the new Chairperson of the Elections Observation Group (ELOG) Her term officially began on 31st March 2021. She takes over from Regina Opondo who had served in that position since 2017.

Ann is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with more than 15 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Moi University and a post graduate diploma in Legal studies from the Kenya School of law. In addition, she also earned a post graduate diploma in human rights and gender equality from Uppsala University in Sweden.

Professionally, she has consulted with the African Union and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre on International Humanitarian Law. Internationally, Anne has worked at the INTERIGHTS in London on strategic litigation around women rights in Africa

She also serves as the Executive Director of the Kenyan Chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers.
